Join the WPHC family as we fast from Resurrection Sunday to Pentecost Sunday (April 4-May 23). We encourage everyone who is physically able to participate in this church—wide fast.
Choose a day that will work for you then sign up at the Welcome Center. “Is this not the fast I have chosen to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?” (Isaiah 58:6)
Celebrate Recovery \
Celebrate Recovery is a ministry for people with
hurts, habits and hang-ups. It is based on biblical principles with a goal to
let God work his healing power through a Christ Centered, 12 step program.
Celebrate Recovery provides a safe place for individuals to begin their journey
of breaking out of their bondage and into God's grace. Celebrate Recovery is
currently meeting on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. If you are interested in
becoming involved in this ministry, please contact Jerry Willis.
Holy Communion \
Join us when the WPHC family celebrates Holy Communion. Communion is open
to everyone who has received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. "For as
often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death
till He comes." (1 Corinthians 11:26)
C.A.R.E. \
C.A.R.E. teams meet each Tuesday
evening. A free meal will be served at 6:15 p.m. followed by ministry at 7:00
p.m. C.A.R.E. is calling, writing, praying and visiting. If you are interested
in becoming involved in this important ministry please contact John Pelliccione.
Camp Dayspring
Summer is right around the corner! Begin making
plans now to be a part of Camp Dayspring this year. There are plenty of spots
available for both campers and staff, so pick up an application at the Welcome
Center today. The cost of camp for WPHC students is $65. Please turn in
applications to Pastor Stephen by May 3. Dates are as follows: June 16-20
(grades 9-12), June 23-27 (grades 7-8), June 30-July 4 (grades 4-6), and July
7-11 (grades 1-3). FMI, see Pastor Stephen.
Stewardship Month
Pastor Keith has begun a new series entitled "Priorities of Stewardship."
During the month of February we will examine what God's Word teaches about the
heart of giving. Plan to be present each Sunday morning during stewardship
month.
Family Night
The first Wednesday night of each month we celebrate Family
Night. Join us at 6:15pm in the fellowship hall for a good meal provided
by the church. Following the meal the Men's & Women's Ministries will hold
their monthly meetings while the children have their regular weekly classes.
Our next Family Night will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
JOY Ministries Bible Study
JOY Ministries holds a weekly Bible study service
each Tuesday at 10am here at the church. Everyone 55 and over is invited to
join in.
JOY Trip: Those who signed up for the Savannah trip need to make
a payment of $375.00 by this evening. For more information contact Pastor David.
JOY Ministries is for all adults aged 55 and older.

Conference \
We
will be taking a group to the Joyce Meyer Conference in Winston Salem on Friday,
March 19. We will be leaving at 3:30 from the church, stopping for a quick
supper, attending the evening service and returning to Lenoir. The only cost for
the trip will be your meal. If you plan to join us, please sign up at the
Welcome Center.
Stitch-In-Time
Stitch-in-Time is a group of believers who like to do
needlework (crochet, knit, needlepoint, etc) and they gather to work on projects
for various needs. Past projects include booties for the Caldwell Pregnancy Care
Center, cold weather items for troops overseas, and a mission trip out west to
provide relief for Native Americans. They currently are making quilts for the
homeless in the Lenoir and Hickory area. A beginner's class is now available.
If you are interested in joining the group or just want more information please

Children's Ministry Workers needed
Anyone
interested in teaching or assisting a teacher in our Children's ministries,
please contact Pastor Stephen Jones.
Youth Workers Resource Day: All
youth and children's ministry volunteers are invited to a special day of
training and networking on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity
Worship Center in Burlington, NC. FMI, see Pastor Stephen or Pastor Charles.
Vacation Bible School \
Mark your calendar for this summer's special VBS "EGYPT- A
Tale of Joseph's Journey" from Wednesday, June 16-Sunday, June 20. Sessions will
be held every evening at 7:00 p.m. concluding with the grand finale at 10:45
Sunday morning (Father's Day). Sign-up at the Welcome Center if you are
interested in helping. There will be preliminary planning meeting on Sunday,
March 14, at 4pm in the fellowship hall.
Nursery Workers Needed
Anyone who would like to be involved in the Nursery Ministry
is asked to contact Kim Brown. We are in need of Nursery workers, especially for
the 10:45 a.m. service. Training is provided and volunteers must fill out
a worker's application. Nursery is provided for children from birth to 3 years
old for all services.
R.A.S.O.R.S. \
Attention youth 12 and under! R.A.S.O.R.S will meet
next Sunday evening, February 28 at 6:00 p.m. For more information contact David

Member Class
If you are interested in becoming a member of the wphc family,
please sign-up in the foyer at the Welcome Center. New member classes are
held on Sunday evenings at 5:30pm in room A10. If you have any questions, please
see one of the pastoral staff.
Refuge Student Ministries
Teens:
come check out our small groups on Wednesday nights! Join Pastor Stephen Jones
in the youth facility at 7pm. There is also a Sunday School class at
9:15am every Sunday morning. The junior youth group (RASORS) are lead by David
and Shanda Poston. Join them every other Sunday evening...watch the
calendar for these events.
Teen Talent: Now is the time to start
preparing for Talent Quest! Talent Quest is an IPHC denominational ministry
comprised of two primary age classes: Junior Talent, which is open to students
aged 8-12 as of January 15 and Teen Talent, which is open to teens aged 13-19 as
of January 15. Ministry categories range from speaking and writing to music and
drama to video and rap. Students who are interested in participating in any
Talent Quest (or Junior) categories are encouraged to complete registration with
Pastor Stephen by March 19. Competition dates are April 17 and April 24
(corresponding to the categories in which the student participates). FMI, see

Awake Tonight Tour: TobyMac and Skillet will be performing at the Asheville
Civic Center on Sunday, April 11 @ 6 p.m. Refuge students (aged 13-up)
interested in going to this concert are invited to sign up at the Welcome
Center. Ticket cost is $20/person. FMI, see Pastor Stephen.
Student Ministries Conference: On March 26-28,
Refuge Student Ministries will sponsor Broadcast Youth Conference.Each night
will feature special guest speaker Steve Ely, our student worship team,
giveaways, and several drama, multi-media and creative arts presentations.No
matter your age, mark your calendars now!Support our students as they
minister!Invite all your friends to join us for these services in March. FMI,

JOY Nursing Home Ministry
JOY Ministries would like
to invite all seniors, who are interested in giving one day a month, into the
Nursing Home Ministry. Donna Laws is the Nursing Home coordinator and all
questions can be directed to her. Pastor David can be contacted as well. A basket has been placed in the Welcome Center area for gift donations
(lotion, magazines, etc) to this ministry. A list of suggested gifts is
located at the Welcome Center desk.
Prayer
Do you have a prayer
request? If so, please contact Pastor Gray via
or through the church office at (828) 728-5353. There are more than 35 prayer
warriors online to take your need to the Father. If you would like to join
the prayer chain, please let Angie or Pastor Gray know when you call.
Birthday and Anniversary Pictures
Every Sunday morning we
help our loved ones celebrate their birthday and/or anniversary by sharing a
picture of them during morning fellowship. You can submit your picture
(preferably ahead of time) to one of the techs in the sound booth. Please make
sure your picture is clearly marked with the celebrant's name. Pictures
can also be submitted via email
Pictures sent via email must be sent no later than 7:30am of the Sunday in which you desire them to be shown.
Please include any special instructions and correct spelling of names. If you have submitted pictures
and have not retrieved them, you can do so by returning to the sound booth.
We have lots of submissions that need to be returned.
Food Pantry
We are currently in need
of food items for our pantry. Please help us by placing your donated items
in the Nursery kitchen. Here is a suggested donation list:
